Every piece of jewelry we sell at Jeweliany is individually handmade to order.

Sterling Silver
The sterling silver used is genuine sterling silver which is 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper, the use of copper in sterling silver provides more durability to the metal.

Gold Vermeil
All jeweliany designs marketed as gold is either 18k gold-vermeil, or 18k gold plated, or 14k gold filled. Gold vermeil is made by a heavy electroplating sterling silver with gold.

Gold Plating
Although most pieces are made with 18k gold vermeil and 14k gold fill some are made with 18k gold plating. With proper care this plating will last a long time and prevents underlying metals (brass & bronze) from tarnishing through.

14k Gold fill
Gold-filled can exist as 10k, 12k and (14k- the highest karat for gold filled). 14k gold filled is produced by fusing a layer of solid 14k gold to a supporting metal alloy. The bond produced is a permanent one and will not rub off with wear.

Gold Purtiy by Karat count
A karat is a unit of fineness, scaled from one to 24k. 24k gold is considered 100% pure gold having at least 999 parts of pure gold per thousand. 18k is 75% gold and 25% other metals, 14k is 58% gold and 42% other metals.
